This story line was most interesting to watch unfold. The lives of Alban and Leah continue as well as Jacob and Linex. Abigail also deals with her burned leg yet continues to serve others. This book was suspenseful, historical events were well captured. I can't wait to read the third book to this series. The ending of this book was not a surprise. I would encourage others to read this series. Rated it a five!

I initially got these books partly because I wanted them but mostly because I wanted to lend them to a friend who had had surgery. I purchased both the audiobooks and the Kindle version for all three and lent her the audiobooks planning to read them simultaneously with her on my Kindle. I never got around to reading them at that point after all, but afterwards she told me all about just how much they had helped her get through her recovery. Then recently I was going through some stuff and she asked me if I'd ever finished reading those books. I started on them and I think I have to say that it's a God thing that I never read them before now. The words of these books seem to flow right into everything I'm going through. God has used these books to help both of us, and I'm still not finished with the third one. They place the first days of the Christian church in an entirely new and powerful light. You will not be disappointed.

The continuation of the series in a fascinating story written by Janette Oke and Davis Bunn. Fiction based on scripture. Perfect. Janette Oke has collaborated with Davis Bunn in creating a wonderful read. I had to finish this and go right to the next book immediately.. The rest is HIStory in a fabulous way of knitting friendships of early believers along the way. Love the webbing of characters.

An excellent work by an excellent story-teller. I enjoyed their (her) work on the Arcadian's and wasn't aware of the religious streak in her (their) writing.While the historical fiction is a little dramatic, and the evangelicalism is a bit overly obvious, I've enjoyed all three books, and, in context, they tell a lovely part of the passion story that's often overlooked or minimized - the early Church. This story - the three books - bring to life people who struggled with their world and their faith in a time and place where life was tenuous at best and death sudden at worst - sounds like now.Read, and enjoy!

I think that this second book of the Acts of Faith was excellent! It is interesting, well written, filled with suspense and accurately portrays many happenings of the early Church as recorded in the Book of Acts. There are many twist and turns in the story that had me both laughing and crying. There is a little romance in it but it is the Godly type of romance. There is nothing that a Christian would be embarrassed by. I am an Apostolic Pentecostal Christian who strongly believes in holiness and the importance of understanding the stories in the Book of Acts. I was not offended by anything in the book. The authors do not fully portray the salvation plan that is recorded in the Book of Acts but they do not discard it either. The reader can fill in the blanks themselves according to their knowledge of the scriptures. I think that this book along with the other two books of the Hidden Flame series are awesome for anyone who likes historical Biblical Christian fiction.

I'm enjoying this series immensely. The tie ins to the Biblical accounts are so fulfilling. Interlacing a wonderful story with Biblical truth makes for the best reading.

I have been a Janette Oke fan for more years than I can count . I love her books , they are the best. I'am always searching for her latest books. The Acts of Faith books where the best series to date. I finished one then right into the next one, I felt like I was right there living the lives of the people and how it was to be alive during this special time. Thanks so much Janette! I highly recommend this series.
