This is a well made and illustrated adult coloring book filled with 31 designs of dragons of all types: mountain dragons, leafy dragons, fire-breathing dragons, Celtic dragons, crystal dragons, forest dragons, and even a "dragon" fly, too. There is a mermaid, a knight, a castle and more in these designs by Jane Sullivan. Some of the earlier Peter Pauper coloring books were by a variety of artists but this book focuses on only Ms. Sullivan's work – a change in focus that I am really enjoying. My husband and I had a bit of a tug-of-war over this book when it arrived (I won) but he has ordered a copy for himself as he doesn't want to share. I think is it an excellent gender-neutral book that will appeal to men and women alike.A few of the designs have intricate components but they don't look that difficult to color provided you have ultra-fine point pens/markers/pencils and a steady hand. I don't know that crayons would work that well on those particular designs. Other designs are more open and free-flowing and a colorist should be able to use a variety of coloring tools and points with those designs. The pages are a heavyweight of bright white paper that is micro perforated. The designs are printed on one side of the page only and stop well before or at the perforated point. The designs do not merge into the binding area. The paper is also acid-free which means that it will not turn colors with age and all the work you put into coloring the designs should be safe. Additionally, the binding can be pushed into lying flat to give you access to make coloring in this book if you prefer that over taking pages out.The only markers that bleeds through on this paper are my Sharpies and Copics – so it is probably safe to assume that all alcohol-based markers will have the same problem. None of my gel pens or water-based ultra fine markers bleed through. If you are using alcohol based markers or just for general safety, you can put an extra page of heavyweight paper under the page you are working on just in case some color leaches through. Be sure to check your particular markers/pens to see if there is any leaking for that brand.Peter Pauper Press coloring books are very well made for me as a colorist. The paper is a good quality, the designs are great, and the publisher has printed the book one-sided and perforated. These hit all my points and I am really pleased with their books.

Great designs and thick high quality paper that can handle ink without bleeding through. The pages are serated, so you can either leave them in the well bound book or take them out to display. I very much enjoyed doing my first design with glitter gel pens and look forward to using other mediums like water color.

I spent hours looking at dragon coloring books on Amazon. Many beautiful pictures. Some more complex than I desired, some too simple. And many with reviews mentioning issues. This one had only 4 and 5 * reviews, which I usually assume means “compensated” reviews. However, since one reviewer posted all the pics, and I have other Peter Pauper color books, I went with this one. Price was right too. I am happy I did.The paper is heavy, printed on one side, and perforated. I much prefer square coloring pages to rectangle, so this fits that preference. The book is 9.5” x 9’ with the page to perforations being 9” square. The paper is somewhat smooth, and the black lines are thinner and lighter than many color pages, which I actually prefer. That way I can choose whether to accent lines or not. There is a nice variety of scenes and dragons. Going to really enjoy this one!EDIT: My 12 yr old grandson saw this and loved it, so I bought a second one for him. Great price and fun to color. Super!

The Dragons colouring book from Peter Pauper Press is definitely one of my favourites. The pages are of good quality and the designs are printed on one side of perforated paper. These designs easily lend themselves to metallic markers and brush pens, and are suitable for coloured pencils, markers or brush pens. The designs are in a range of sizes which appeals to me. Not all colouring areas are tiny and not all are large. This is a very pleasant book to colour. Although this is not a criticism, if I were to change these designs it would be to make them not quite as busy. There is so much to colour in I find that the busy backgrounds detract from the main feature (the dragon). The additional "busy" design features can remain muted in the background. I prefer the dragon to be easily seen as the focus of the page.Peter Pauper Press' mission is to provide high quality books at a a price which is affordable for average people. I believe they have succeeded, and I will look for more of their publications for this reason. I paid full price for this book and enjoy it very much.

I've just got into coloring books so I decided to buy this one since I like dragons. I was very pleased when it arrrived, all the images are really cool and detailed. The pictures range from simple to more advanced but not overly difficult. Each one is single sided so you don't have to worry about picking one over the other. It seems that only my markers bleed through the page but my gel pens do not. Over all I'm very glad I purchased it.

This is a great coloring book! Designs are only printed on one side of the paper. All pages are perforated and tear easily. The paper is thick enough for marker use. The designs are clear, well illustrated and fun to color. In addition, it has DRAGONS. Dragons of every shape, size, and culture. Some of the designs are simple and easy, others a bit more complicated, but all of them fun. This is really what a coloring book should be!

This is a great adult coloring book! So many have large pictures that have no real detail to them but this one isn't like that at all. I bought it for my 11 year old nephew because I bought his sisters quite a few and thought he might be tempted to join in eventually. I'm not sure if he did as he lives out of state. That reason also keeps me from detailing seeping issues and other important features important to adults using this as an art as opposed to a relaxing hobby.

I bought this for my son who likes to color dragons. The pictures in this book are nicely intricate. Each page is blank on the back, which is nice if you want to display them afterward or if you use a pen and you are afraid of it leaking through.
