Yes, it is disheartening to realize that ignorance, greed, and politics have left the US trailing far behind the rest of the world in the development of restorative hemp industries, but Fine has chosen to succinctly and enjoyably educated us to the promise of hemp.Hemp Bound left me with a hopeful sense that Industrial Hemp (distinctly different from its psychoactive cousin, Marijuana), can unite a polarized country while restoring health to its environment, its beleaguered economy, and its people. We have passed prohibition's tipping point. The hemp wave has crested and is about to wash its promising bounty across the land.For years, I've wondered how to use my particular skills and energies to enhance the world I'll leave to my four grandchildren. It is a great book. In WW2 the empire we are under legalized growing it for rope and oil for vehicles. I eat it. Hemp beverage , hemp oil , hemp seeds and hemp protein. Make a variety of items like a tortilla with whole wheat and hemp protein, pizza crust, Chocolate cream pie out of beverage . I bath with hemp soap. Dr Bronner's . Very Good. Excellent book to show hemp is not just a side show for intoxicating ganja. Many health benefits .

I read a dozen "hemp books" and find Hemp Bound to be one of the better ones. The language is clear and not full of jargon. Of course there are dozens of, as yet, unanswered questions but that will have to wait until the FDA and Congress gets over it's irrational fears starts serous study. It's my humble opinion that hemp growing threatened many industries; but which and by how much needs study. Personally I'm prepared to see medical MJ behind the counter in every pharmacy and liquor store. When that happens MJ will no longer be threat to Law and Order.It's a recommend read all who are specialists. Thank you Amazon.com.

very informative and enjoyable read / this is a topic near and dear to my heart so I certainly personally enjoyed it even more but also thought his light hearted approach was rigth on at this time it seems too bad that his time line for the coming out of industrial hemp in America has not quite come to be yet there is still reasonable hope that the gov't will get it's head unstuck from it's nether regions and finally get down to allowing the farmers the opportunity to grow something that is likely to help us all

The subject of hemp is very interesting and it makes no sense why it is such a problem to grow in the United States. Yet material from the plant can be imported and used in manufacturing products in the USA. Farmers and the local communities around the farm's can benefit from such as crop. Our leaders need to wake up. doug Fine does a great job making you thing about the subject of HEMP.

It's actually hard to find a quality book on hemp. Many claim to offer all sorts of history and information...nothing. Doug Fine does an amazing job of not only covering the value of hemp, but also keeping the reader interested. I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE. You don't have to be a hempster to appreciate this book, but it will make you one.

I bought this for a research paper I was doing for college, and it did not disappoint. Very informative, great information, and was a fun read as well.
